General Information

The bachelor or master thesis should in general be made in companies or scientific institutions. Please inform yourself as early as possible on open theses: look at the black board next to the secretary or direktly at company web sites. Then find a qualified professor at our departement as supervisor for you thesis and discuss scope and size of the thesis. A list of all theses I have supervised can be found for your convenience at the bottom of this page.

The bachelor thesis takes three month, the master thesis six month, and the diploma thesis four month. You have to print three copies of your thesis. The thesis should consist of approximatly 70 (bachelor) to 90 (master) pages using 12 point font size and small spacing. There are no exakt guidelines for the thesis' structure. Most thesis supervised by my are programming projects. In this case you can structure the thesis according to the deliverables produced during software development. The categories should be requirements, architecture, design, implementation, installation, and tests. Make sure that you always present different solutions to the problems that you encounter while working on your thesis. I recommend to write down these information from the beginning of you thesis, for instance, in a small text file. Your can consult this file late whilte writing your thesis.
