Description

Today, the implementation of business processes through application systems is often based on service oriented architectures (SOA). Within the framework of such projects, the processes are implemented with the Business Process Execution Language (BPEL). The Java Enterprise Edition (JEE) is frequently used for both the implementation of the needed functionality of the process and the user interfaces. Web Services have prevailed as the technology for providing the functions of service oriented architectures.

As the length of iterative steps in IT projects becoming shorter due to the technologies used, PROMATIS intends to deploy methods of agile software development. Underlying business processes are to be implemented transparently by BPEL within the service oriented architectures. Meanwhile there are some frameworks and tools supporting this approach.
